Ocean Isle North Carolina Activities Schedule
Every Fri. & Sat, in November through 11/22/08: Great Family Entertainment at the Ingram Planetarium. Interesting astronomy and science programs for all ages in the 85-seat Sky Theater. All shows are 1 hour or less. The theater simulates a perfectly dark, starry night and it is unsafe to move around during the shows. Late arrivals are not admitted to the theater. 1 pm The Sky Above Mr. Rogers Neighborhood
Learn about objects you see in the sky, like clouds, the sun, the moon and stars. There is a family science activity before the show (younger children will need help with the activity). Ages pre-school and up.
2 pm The Planets
Planet hunters come and learn if that is a planet or a dwarf planet, a plutoid or a star. Learn about our solar system and how to find planets in the sky. 9 years & up Length: 45 minutes
3 pm Hubble Vision 2
The Hubble telescope took pictures of our closest neighbors in space and all the way out to the edges of the universe. In this multimedia presentation we see the best pictures Hubble has taken and learn some science behind the images. All ages Length: 45 minutes
4 pm Live in the Sky with Solar Scope viewing
(weather permitting)
The constellations are easy to learn. Find out how in the sky theater. All you need to know is the “when”, the “where”, and the “how”. Hear about some great astronomy stuff while you wait for your eyes to adjust to the darkened theater. 8 years & up Length: 50 minutes

Make weekend out of these events! The street parade is a lot of fun for the whole family and the Flotilla Party at Sharky’s Waterfornt Restaurant is a ball all for a great cause!
1:30 p.m. Line-up for parade at Museum parking lot
5:00 p.m. Christmas caroling and Tree lighting at Causeway across the street from the Fire Department.
5:30 p.m. Santa arrives at the Fire Department followed by hot cocoa, coffee and other goodies.
At this time canned and non perishable goods will be collected to help needy families in Brunswick County. Cash donations will also be accepted.
